Learn the creative possibilities of Gelli plate printing in this fun, beginner-friendly workshop. Whether you're new to printmaking or looking to add fresh techniques to your artistic practice, you'll learn how to make vibrant, one-of-a-kind monoprints using a flexible Gelli printing plate.

Through demonstrations and hands-on exploration, you'll experiment with layering colors and shapes, creating hand-cut stencils, transferring images, and registering multiple layers to produce richly textured, expressive prints. A Gelli plate is a soft, reusable printing surface that makes monoprinting simple and accessible, allowing you to create unique prints without the need for a traditional printing press.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have completed a collection of original prints while gaining the skills and confidence to continue exploring this versatile printmaking process at home.

What to Bring:
All basic materials are provided, including Gelli plates, paints, paper, and printing supplies. Students are encouraged to bring items that create interesting textures or patterns, such as stencils, rubber stamps, bubble wrap, corrugated cardboard, lace, or other textured fabrics and materials.

Experience Level:
No previous printmaking experience is necessary. This workshop is suitable for students ages 15 and up.
